Double chocolate raspberry protein notmeal and a dash of cinnamon

This delicious Β no bake double chocolate raspberry protein notmeal recipe tastes just like a rich chocolate mousse, just a tad bit more grainier. It can be eaten for breakfast, snack or even a dessert if you wanted! It is a quick and easy no- bake recipe that is high in protein and fiber, but low in carbs. Depending on the jam, protein powder and chocolate chips you choose, this recipe is also vegan and clean. It is also pretty versatile! The more liquid you add the more mousse like, the less the more cookie dough like. You choose!

Alright it was either you guys..or maybe me that didn’t cross my fingers hard enough last week haha (Just kidding! I would never blame you guys). This week as you know I was covering 3 hospitals from Wed 7am to Sat 7am.

Here’s some of the highlights:

  1. I got about 5 hours of sleep for the duration of the call period.

So right now it’s all like:

2. I have a bruise from carrying the consult bag

Awkward. Oh well, at least I know where it came from. The 2 bruises around my left knee? I have no idea. I perhaps have some postulations (Maybe call bag related too?) But as of right now I’m on:

3. I thankfully and finally have access to ALL of the computer systems.

When I tried to log on to the main one that I haven’t had access to yet and found that I was in it was all like:

Pathetic when this is a serious plus in your life. Now I just have to become proficient at all 4 of them. I’ve gotten a lot of practice though and feel a WHOLE lot more comfortable with them. Still have a lot to learn, but at least it’s gotten better

4. Getting woken up in the middle of the night to go into a call is rough

Especially when you get back and it takes you ohh like an hour and a half to go back to sleep. It’s all like:

Worse because in these instances it seemed no fail to get another page about 30min-hour after I finally was able to get back to sleep this go around of call.

5. Stalking the ED board before you leave doesn’t always help

My last call I took for this period I had just finally gotten home at about 2:30 AM, just took off my scrubsΒ when my pager when off again to go back to the same hospital! It was all like:

Gah! Even after stalking the ED board to see if there were any patients I may be consulted on. Terrible. Even worse when it was sort of a nightmare of a case. Make it even worse when you finally get home sometime after 5 am and you get woken up 2.5 hours later by your upper year wanting to discuss the case further…..and can’t get back to sleep afterwards.

Sounds like time for some healthy comfort food. This recipe is super simple, and yummy recipe can be eaten for breakfast, snack or even dessert since it tastes so much like a rich chocolate mousse. The coconut flour makes it slightly more grainier than you would expect for a typical mousse, though. So go ahead and try out this no bake double chocolate raspberry protein notmeal.

Have you ever tried working with coconut flour before?

  1. Oh wow, I totally admire you for what you do. I am one of those people that needs a regular sleep schedule. I fall asleep by 10pm every night. I worked at a call centre once that was open 24/7 and they thought of putting me on the 11pm-7am shift once to see how it would go and I fell asleep at 1am. Needless to say, I didn’t get asked to do that shift again πŸ˜‰
Your Notmeal sounds so good! Just what is needed to power through some no-sleep time. Or to reward yourself after you finally get sleep!
Thanks so much for sharing with Healthy Vegan Fridays. I’m pinning & sharing. I hope you are getting some catch up sleep now.

    1. Thanks :). Hahaha that’s a great story! And a good way to not have to work that sort of shift! Thanks for sharing. It was so good! I’ve eaten it for breakfast…snack and dessert! Hopefully I’ll get good sleep at some point!

  2. Are you a doctor? How do you work in the medical field and have time to blog?? Wow!! Great post by the way! Thanks for sharing at the What’s for Dinner linky – and don’t forget to leave a comment – if you comment and your post is featured next week, it will also get pinned and tweeted!

    1. As for your first question, yep I’m an MD currently doing my residency. As for your second, it’s incredibly difficult. There are a lot of things I would like to do, but just can’t unfortunately due to time limitations. I’m also incredibly tired and sleep deprived, lol and trying to maintain a blog does not help with that. I try to do what I can though and well see how long I can sustain it.

  3. This looks awesome. And your week sounds awful. Lol! I do not envy you!! But you’re going to be a great doc when all is said and done. πŸ™‚

  4. Your comic renditions are hilarious..it definitely helps to lighten ones stress…which must be at an all time high…the comfort food you recommended sounds awesome…can’t wait to try it out. Hang in there!

    1. Yeahhhh stress levels are pretty high, lol but one of my defense mechanisms is definitely humor. People who know me have said that they feel like when they read these stories and memes that they can easily see my personality come through and it is as if I were there in person telling them the story haha. Major win. The memes for sure should help people to get a good taste of my personality. They fit me really well so I’m always pleased when other people can get enjoyment out of the ridiculous life I lead hehe. Hope you get to try out the recipe!

  5. Sounds like a crazy week, hopefully this week is better!
I’m definitely going to have to try this! I don’t have any plain pea protein but I have a couple plantbased protein powders I might have to try it with this week since I have everything else.
Thank you for linking up with us for Meatless Monday!

    1. It WAS a crazy.. not so fun week. I think this week will be MUCH better. I hope you do get to try it out! I think you’d be ok swapping it out for another protein. The biggest factor will probably be the amount of liquid you have to add depending on what you pick! I’d love to hear how it goes if you do give it a try
