Ready to get your new year at college off to a fresh start? Better fuel up with a healthy breakfast to get you through your morning classes. Try out this overnight oatmeal that you can make the night before to be ready for the morning. Looking for other ideas? Try out any of the ones below that can be made in your dorm room with no or little equipment.

This post is dedicated to my sister. She asked me for some ideas of healthy meals that she could make in her dorm room. So, in honor of the start of her sophmore year, I’ll be doing a few dorm room edition posts for different meals of the day that those in dorms could use, but can also be quick meals that anyone can make use of! These recipes will use little to no equipment and this post will be dedicated to breakfast! (The best meal of the day ahem if I may say so myself). Just click on the picture captions to be taken to the recipe.

Since I used to eat oatmeal every morning, I certainly have some recipes that you can make either with a microwave, or hey! transform them into overnight oats if that is more your style, or you don’t have a microwave to use.

Dorm Room Edition: Breakfast Round Up with Chocolate Covered Orange Overnight Protein Oatmeal [Clean, Vegan, GF]

Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings 1 bowl
Author AZ@...And A Dash of Cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup old fashioned oatmeal
  • 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1/2 orange diced
  • 1 T psyllium husk powder
  • few dashes cinnamon
  • liquid of choice

Instructions

  1. Easy! Mix all of your ingredients in a bowl, add liquid until the oats are a bit runny or to your desired consistency (remember they will thicken overnight).

  2. Place in your fridge overnight, take out the next morning, give it a few stirs and eat and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Your oatmeal will thicken overnight, especially if you are using the psyllium husk powder. I recommend slowly adding your liquid while stirring and stopping when it is just a little bit on the runny side if you like it thick, more if you like it thinner.
